BrainStride FAQ

BrainStride FAQ: straight answers for students and parents

Short answer

BrainStride is an AI tutor for JEE, NEET and Olympiad preparation that runs a 20-minute diagnostic, maps your weak chapters and writes a daily plan, with every solution checked by teachers. The Starter plan is free forever. It does not replace a good teacher; it handles what happens between classes. The answers below cover plans, exams, accuracy, parents and your data.

Plans and billing

Prices include the plan itself; GST is added at checkout.

Is BrainStride free?

Yes, the BrainStride Starter plan is free forever. It includes the 20-minute diagnostic, the weak-chapter map, 20 camera doubt solves a month, three adaptive practice sets a week, the Sunday all-India mock and the full previous-year paper archive. No card is needed to sign up, and you can stay on Starter as long as you like.

How much do the BrainStride paid plans cost?

BrainStride Focus costs ₹899 a month, or ₹749 a month billed yearly. RankLab costs ₹2,499 a month, or ₹2,082 a month billed yearly. GST is added at checkout. Focus adds unlimited doubts, the nightly plan and mistake analysis; RankLab adds live doubt clinics, mentor check-ins and harder problem sets.

What is the difference between Focus and RankLab?

BrainStride Focus gives you unlimited doubt solves, the daily plan, mistake analysis, spaced revision, a predicted rank after every mock and the parent email. RankLab includes everything in Focus plus a Sunday live doubt clinic with faculty, a mentor check-in twice a month, JEE Advanced and Olympiad problem sets, and faculty-written paper analysis.

Can I cancel my BrainStride plan anytime?

Yes. You can cancel a BrainStride paid plan in one tap, at any time, with no call or form. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further charge is made after that. The Starter plan itself is free forever, with no charge at all.

Does BrainStride give refunds?

BrainStride refunds your first payment if you ask within 7 days of paying and have used fewer than 10 doubt solves. After that, cancelling stops the next charge and your access runs to the end of the paid period. To ask for a refund, write to hello@brainstride.co from the email on your account.

Which payment methods does BrainStride accept?

BrainStride accepts UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets. GST is shown and added at checkout before you pay, so the amount you approve is the amount charged. Yearly billing works out to two months free compared with paying month by month on the same plan.

Are there discounts for siblings or droppers?

Yes. A second sibling gets 40% off their BrainStride plan. Droppers get RankLab at the Focus price for their first three months. There is also a scholarship test: the top 100 students get Focus free for a year, and the next 500 get 50% off.

Exams and coverage

Which exams does BrainStride cover?

BrainStride covers JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET UG, the Indian Olympiads (the NSE science exams and the IOQM and RMO maths route) and CBSE Class 11–12 boards. One question bank serves all of them, because every question is tagged by chapter, concept and the mistake it usually catches, then matched to each exam pattern.

Is BrainStride updated for the current JEE Main pattern?

Yes. BrainStride follows the JEE Main Paper 1 pattern used since 2025: 75 compulsory questions, 25 per subject, each subject with 20 MCQs and 5 numerical questions, 300 marks in 3 hours, and +4 / −1 marking for both MCQs and numericals. Mocks and practice sets use that pattern.

Is BrainStride updated for the current NEET UG pattern?

Yes. BrainStride follows the NEET UG pattern used since 2025: 180 compulsory questions (Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Biology 90), 720 marks in 180 minutes, with +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. The optional Section B used from 2021 to 2024 is gone, and practice reflects that.

Can I prepare for boards and an entrance exam together on BrainStride?

Yes. BrainStride keeps board-format answers alongside entrance practice for CBSE Class 11 and 12, so you are not forced to drop one for the other. Board-format practice sits in the same question bank as JEE and NEET practice, tagged by chapter and concept, so work on a chapter counts towards both.

Does BrainStride have previous-year papers?

Yes. BrainStride includes JEE Main previous-year papers from 2013 to 2026, solved and organised by session and shift, and NEET past papers with NCERT references. The previous-year paper archive is part of the free Starter plan, so you do not need a paid plan to practise them.

Is BrainStride affiliated with NTA or the IITs?

No. BrainStride is an independent preparation service and is not affiliated with NTA, the IITs, JoSAA, MCC or NMC. Exam facts on our pages come from the official bulletins, which we link as sources, and you should always confirm dates and rules on the official websites before acting on them.

How the AI works, and how accurate it is

Can BrainStride replace my coaching class?

For most students, no — and BrainStride won't pretend otherwise. Coaching gives you a teacher and a schedule. BrainStride handles what happens after class: what to practise, why you got things wrong, and doubts at odd hours. Students preparing entirely on their own do use it as their main plan.

Is the BrainStride AI ever wrong?

Occasionally, like any tutor. Every solution in the BrainStride question bank is reviewed by faculty before it ships, explanations are audited weekly, and a one-tap 'this looks wrong' button sends the question straight to a subject mentor. Our editorial policy explains the full review process.

What happens in the BrainStride diagnostic test?

The BrainStride diagnostic is 25 questions in about 20 minutes, calibrated to your class and target exam. It is not a syllabus test. It finds the chapters where you lose marks and names the mistake pattern behind each one, which becomes your weak-chapter map and the starting point of your plan.

How does the BrainStride doubt solver work?

Photograph any question — from a textbook, a coaching sheet or your own handwriting — and the BrainStride doubt solver returns a step-by-step solution in seconds, with the reasoning shown rather than just the answer. If a solution looks wrong, one tap sends it to a subject mentor to check.

How does BrainStride decide what I practise next?

BrainStride tags every wrong answer as a concept gap, a silly error or time pressure, and that tag chooses your next practice set. Difficulty moves question by question, and chapters you keep missing come back until your error rate falls. Chapters you have cleared resurface later for spaced revision.

How accurate is the BrainStride predicted rank?

The BrainStride predicted rank is a range, not a single number, because one mock cannot pin a rank down honestly. It updates after every mock and names the two chapters that would move it most. Treat it as a direction for your preparation, not a guarantee of your final exam result.

How much time does the BrainStride daily plan take?

The BrainStride daily plan is about 90 focused minutes a day, re-cut every night from what you got wrong. It fits around school and coaching, and if you skip a day the plan adjusts instead of piling up missed work, so one bad evening does not turn into a backlog.

For parents

What does the BrainStride parent email include?

Every Sunday at 8 pm, BrainStride sends parents one email with the hours actually studied that week, the chapters that improved, the current predicted rank band and one suggestion worth talking about. The parent email is part of the Focus and RankLab plans, and there is no dashboard you need to check.

Will my child know what BrainStride reports to me?

Yes. Your child sees the same numbers in BrainStride that you receive in the Sunday parent email. Nothing is reported behind their back, which keeps the weekly summary a conversation starter rather than a surveillance tool, and gives your child the same honest view of where marks are leaking.

My child already has too many screens. Will BrainStride add more?

BrainStride replaces search and messaging time rather than adding to it. Sessions cap at 90 focused minutes, there is no feed to scroll, and parents get a weekly email of hours studied, chapters covered and mocks taken — so you can see progress without checking a phone.

I'm a dropper starting from scratch. Does BrainStride work for me?

Yes. The BrainStride diagnostic assumes nothing. Droppers get a longer plan that rebuilds Class 11 fundamentals alongside current practice, re-cut weekly as mock scores move. Droppers also get RankLab at the Focus price for the first three months, which adds mentor check-ins and Sunday doubt clinics with faculty.

Who checks the BrainStride content my child studies from?

Teachers do. BrainStride faculty audit the solution bank before questions are released, review explanations every week and run the Sunday doubt clinics on RankLab. When a student taps 'this looks wrong', the question goes to a subject mentor, so errors are corrected by people who teach the syllabus.

Account, app and data

What happens to my data on BrainStride?

Your attempts on BrainStride teach your own study plan and nothing else. BrainStride does not sell data to third parties, shows no ads, and lets you export or delete everything from settings. Your practice history exists to decide what you should work on next, not to target you.

Does BrainStride work on a slow internet connection?

Yes. BrainStride practice sets and previous-year papers work offline once downloaded, doubt photos are compressed before upload, and the Android app is under 60 MB — built for hostel Wi-Fi and patchy mobile data rather than a fast home connection.

Is there a BrainStride app?

Yes, BrainStride has an Android app. It is under 60 MB, practice and previous-year papers work offline once downloaded, and photos are compressed before upload so camera doubt-solving works on slower connections. The free Starter plan works in the app as well.

Can I delete my BrainStride account?

Yes. You can export your BrainStride data or delete everything from settings, without writing to support. If you are on a paid plan, cancel it first so no further charge is made; cancelling takes one tap and your access runs to the end of the period you paid for.

How do I raise a complaint with BrainStride?

Write to grievance@brainstride.co with your account email and a short description of the problem. For everyday questions about plans, practice or your preparation, write to hello@brainstride.co or use WhatsApp support between 10 am and 9 pm IST — a mentor replies, not a bot.

The quickest answer is your own diagnostic.
