Until 2024, the NEET paper had 200 questions: each subject had a Section A of 35 compulsory questions and a Section B of 15 from which you answered 10. Many mock tests still follow that format.
Since 2025, NEET UG has 180 compulsory questions in 180 minutes — one minute a question — with no optional section. A mock built on the old pattern gives you 20 minutes more than the real paper and a choice the real paper no longer offers, so it flatters both your time management and your weakest chapters.
The generator builds the current pattern: 45 Physics, 45 Chemistry and 90 Biology, all compulsory, +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. Biology is planned as two sections of 45, Botany and Zoology, because that is how the paper is printed and how most students should revise it. The full detail is on the NEET exam pattern page.
Mock day
NEET Biology is written close to the NCERT text. Fill the Biology rows from previous-year papers and NCERT-based questions before any other source.
NEET is pen and paper. Shade a printed OMR sheet as you go — the minutes spent shading are part of the real paper’s time.
NEET has been held in the afternoon. Sit the mock in the same slot so your concentration curve matches the real day.
Tag every wrong answer. Rebuild the next mock with the most-missed chapters marked weak in the generator.
The free NEET rank predictor converts marks out of 720 into an all-India rank band and checks your category’s qualifying mark.
Biology is half the paper — 90 of the 180 questions and 360 of the 720 marks — and it is the subject in which accuracy is most achievable, because the questions follow the NCERT text closely. Most ranks are decided by how few Biology questions a student drops and how many Physics questions they leave unattempted.
That has two consequences for how you use generated mocks:

One subject at a time
A NEET 2027 mock should follow the pattern used since 2025: 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions — 45 Physics, 45 Chemistry and 90 Biology — in 180 minutes, with +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one, for 720 marks. NTA confirms the 2027 pattern in the information bulletin.
Forty-five each. The generator plans Biology as two sections, 45 Botany and 45 Zoology questions, so a full mock matches the printed paper. Within each section, chapters are weighted by BrainStride’s reading of recent papers, so genetics, human physiology and ecology get the largest shares.
In our analysis of recent papers, genetics and evolution, human physiology and ecology lead Biology; Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Optics and modern physics lead Physics; and Chemical Bonding, p-Block Elements and organic compounds containing oxygen lead Chemistry. These are estimates — NTA publishes no chapter weightage.
Not in the sense of writing questions. The generator is a rule-based planner: it reads the exam pattern and BrainStride’s chapter weights from past papers and decides how many questions each chapter gets, so the result is the same every time for the same settings. The AI part of BrainStride is the tutor, which picks your next practice questions from a teacher-checked bank based on the mistakes you have made.
From about three months before the exam, one full mock a week, rising to two a week in the final month, each followed by at least an hour of review. Before that, shorter generated papers on recently finished chapters give more information for the time they take.
No. The paper plan is built in your browser, nothing is sent to a server and there is no sign-up. Print it or copy it as text if you want to keep it. The free BrainStride diagnostic is a separate, optional step if you want a plan built around your own mistakes.
Exam patterns are from the official information bulletins. Chapter weights are BrainStride estimates from past papers, not official data.
