How BrainStride prepares you for JEE Main

Three steps, then a routine

  1. A JEE Main diagnostic

Twenty-five questions built from Main-pattern PYQs — MCQs plus numericals, marked +4/−1 so the score means something.

  2. Your weak-chapter map

Mastery per chapter across Physics, Chemistry and Maths, with the mistake pattern named: concept gap, silly error or time pressure.

  3. A daily plan

About ninety minutes a day around school and coaching, re-cut every night from what you got wrong, with high-yield Main chapters first.

The JEE Main question bank

Every question carries a chapter, a concept and the error it usually catches — which is what lets practice target a leak instead of a syllabus.

JEE Main questions students ask

Anything missing? Write to hello@brainstride.co — a mentor replies, not a bot.

How many questions are there in JEE Main Paper 1?

JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) has 75 questions, all compulsory: 25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, split into 20 MCQs and 5 numerical-value questions per subject. The paper is worth 300 marks over 3 hours, with +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one on both MCQs and numericals. This has been the pattern since 2025.

When will JEE Main 2027 be held?

JEE Main 2027 is expected to follow the 2025 and 2026 schedule: registration around late October to November 2026, Session 1 in late January 2027 and Session 2 in early April 2027, with the final rank list around mid-to-late April 2027. NTA had not released the 2027 information bulletin as of September 2026, so confirm dates on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Is there an age limit for JEE Main 2027?

There is no age limit for JEE Main. Candidates who passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam in 2025 or 2026, or who are appearing in 2027, can take JEE Main 2027. That means JEE Main can be attempted in three consecutive years, with two sessions each year — up to six attempts in total.

What percentile do I need in JEE Main to qualify for JEE Advanced?

The top 2,50,000 JEE Main candidates across categories qualify for JEE Advanced. In JEE Main 2025 the General cutoff was 93.1023262 percentile, EWS 80.3830119, OBC-NCL 79.4313582, SC 61.1526933 and ST 47.9026465. The 2026 cutoffs are in the official NTA result notice; the 2027 figure will depend on that year’s papers.

Do I need 75% in Class 12 for JEE Main?

No, the 75% criterion does not apply to writing JEE Main. It applies to admission to NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes through JoSAA: you need 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) or a place in the top 20 percentile of your board. Without it, you can still sit JEE Main and use the score elsewhere.

Can I do JEE Main preparation without coaching?

Yes, many students clear JEE Main through self-study, but it takes a plan and honest feedback on mistakes. The parts that usually go missing without coaching are doubt-solving, timed full-length mocks and knowing which chapters to fix first. Solved previous year papers, the free Sunday mock and a weak-chapter map cover most of that gap.

How does BrainStride help with JEE Main preparation?

BrainStride is an AI tutor for JEE, NEET and Olympiad preparation. For JEE Main it runs a 20-minute diagnostic on Main-pattern questions, maps the chapters where you lose marks, writes a 90-minute daily plan that is re-cut every night, and solves doubts from a photo. Every solution is checked by teachers, and the Starter plan is free.
