CBSE Class 12 board exams usually run between February and April, and the 2027 exams are expected to follow that window. CBSE releases the official date sheet on cbse.gov.in a few months before. JEE Main Session 1 is expected in late January 2027 and NEET UG in early May 2027, so plan the overlap early.

Balancing CBSE Class 12 preparation with JEE or NEET works best when you treat them as one syllabus with two answer styles. The NCERT chapters are largely shared, so study each chapter once, then practise both the entrance MCQ and the written board answer. Shift weight to board-format writing in the weeks before the board exams.
Do board marks matter for JEE and NEET admissions?
Board marks matter for admissions. For NITs, IIITs and other institutes through JoSAA, you need 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) or a place in your board’s top 20 percentile. For NEET UG, you need at least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General candidates, and 40% for SC, ST and OBC.
Is NCERT enough for CBSE Class 12 boards?
For CBSE Class 12 boards, NCERT textbooks are the core, and most board questions are written from them. What NCERT alone does not teach is answer presentation: step-wise working, labelled diagrams and keyword-level precision that examiners mark.
