JEE Main Rank Predictor 2027

This JEE Main rank predictor turns your expected marks out of 300, or your NTA percentile, into an estimated all-India rank range in about fifteen seconds. It uses approximate marks-vs-percentile data from the 2024 and 2025 sessions and about 14 lakh candidates, so you get a band rather than a flattering single number — no sign-up, no email.

JEE Main marks vs percentile vs rank

Read across a row to see where a score usually lands. Ranks are worked out as (100 − percentile) ÷ 100 × 14 lakh candidates, rounded so they don't pretend to more precision than the data has.

What percentile do you need to qualify for JEE Advanced?

To write JEE Advanced you must be among the top 2,50,000 B.E./B.Tech candidates in JEE Main, which works out to these qualifying NTA percentiles. The predictor checks your band against the 2025 figure for your category.

How this predictor works

BrainStride is an AI tutor for JEE, NEET and Olympiad preparation that runs a 20-minute diagnostic, maps your weak chapters and writes a daily plan, with every solution checked by teachers. This rank predictor is the free, no-account part of that: a quick, honest read on where a score lands.

How are marks turned into a percentile?

We start from a marks-to-percentile curve built from published analyses of the 2024 and 2025 JEE Main sessions. For your marks we read the percentile at 6 marks below and 6 marks above your score. That spread stands in for shift-to-shift normalisation: the same raw score can map to a different percentile depending on which shift you sat.

How is percentile turned into a rank?

NTA ranks candidates on their NTA score, which is a percentile. A percentile of 99 means 1% of candidates scored above you, so rank is roughly (100 − percentile) ÷ 100 × the number of candidates. We use about 14 lakh, close to the unique candidate count in 2024 and 2025. If you enter a percentile directly, we show the rank for 13.5–14.5 lakh candidates instead.

What are the limits?

  • It is an estimate, not a result. Official ranks come only from NTA after Session 2.
  • 2027 difficulty is unknown. A harder paper pushes the same marks to a higher percentile.
  • The pattern changed in 2025. All 75 questions are compulsory and numericals now carry −1, so marks-vs-percentile tables from 2021–2024 are not directly comparable.
  • Category ranks are not shown. The JEE Advanced check uses the published 2025 qualifying percentiles; category ranks depend on each year's category-wise counts, which we don't guess.
  • Nothing is stored. The calculation runs in your browser.

How to use your predicted rank

After you get a band

  1. Check the JEE Advanced line first

If your band sits below the qualifying percentile for your category, JoSAA seats at NITs and IIITs through JEE Main rank are the target. If it is borderline, five extra marks matter more than anything else this month.

  2. Count the marks to the next band

Look at the table above. Moving up one row is usually 20 marks — four questions right instead of wrong, or twenty careless guesses left blank.

  3. Find where those marks leak

Rank moves fastest when you fix repeated errors in two or three chapters, not when you add new ones. Tag your last three mock mistakes as concept gap, silly error or time pressure.

  4. Re-run it after every mock

One mock is noisy. Enter the average of your last three full-pattern mocks and watch whether the band moves up across weeks.

How accurate is this JEE Main rank predictor?

The JEE Main rank predictor gives a band, not a result. It uses approximate marks-vs-percentile data from the 2024 and 2025 sessions and about 14 lakh candidates. Real ranks shift with the difficulty of the 2027 paper, shift normalisation and how many candidates appear, so treat the band as a planning number and expect your official rank to land near it, not on it.

What rank will I get with 200 marks in JEE Main?

In JEE Main 2024 and 2025, 200 marks out of 300 usually meant about the 99.7–99.8 percentile, which is roughly an all-India rank between 3,000 and 4,500. A harder shift can push the same marks higher. Use the predictor with your exact marks to see the band, and treat anything near a band edge as uncertain.

How many marks are needed to qualify for JEE Advanced 2027?

JEE Advanced 2027 needs you to be in the top 2,50,000 B.E./B.Tech candidates of JEE Main 2027. In JEE Main 2025 that meant a General qualifying percentile of 93.1023262, which was roughly 70–80 marks out of 300. Reserved categories need lower percentiles. The 2027 cutoff will be set by that year’s result, so aim for a margin above it.

What is normalisation in JEE Main and why does it change my rank?

JEE Main runs across many shifts with papers of different difficulty, so NTA converts raw marks into a percentile within each shift before ranking. Two students with the same marks in different shifts can get different percentiles. That is why this JEE Main rank predictor shows a percentile band a few marks wide instead of one exact figure.

Is JEE Main rank based on marks or percentile?

JEE Main rank is based on the NTA score, which is a percentile calculated to seven decimal places, not on raw marks. If you write both sessions, the better of your two NTA scores is used. Ties are broken using subject-wise percentiles as set out in the information bulletin for that year.

When is the JEE Main 2027 final rank announced?

JEE Main 2027 is expected to follow the 2026 schedule: Session 1 in late January 2027 and Session 2 in early April 2027. The final all-India rank list is expected around mid-to-late April 2027, after Session 2 results. Official dates come only in the NTA information bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Does the predictor store my marks?

No. The JEE Main rank predictor runs in your browser and does not store or send the marks, percentile or category you enter. You do not need an account or an email address to use it. If you want a plan built around your score, the free BrainStride diagnostic is a separate, optional step.
