JEE Advanced Rank Predictor 2027

This JEE Advanced rank predictor turns your aggregate marks out of 360 into an estimated Common Rank List (CRL) rank range, and checks your score against the qualifying aggregate for your category. The band covers both a harder paper like 2025 and an easier one like 2024, because the same marks landed far apart in those years. No sign-up, nothing stored.

JEE Advanced qualifying marks by category

To appear on a rank list, your aggregate must reach your category’s cutoff. OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS cutoffs are 90% of the CRL cutoff; SC, ST and PwD are 50%.

How this JEE Advanced rank predictor works

BrainStride is an AI tutor for JEE, NEET and Olympiad preparation that runs a 20-minute diagnostic, maps your weak chapters and writes a daily plan, with every solution checked by teachers. This predictor is the free, no-account part.

Why is the band so wide?

JEE Advanced changes question types and marks every year, and difficulty swings sharply. The CRL cutoff was 109 marks in 2024 and 74 in 2025. We keep two approximate marks-vs-rank curves — one for a 2025-like paper and one for a 2024-like paper — read both at 5 marks either side of your aggregate, and show the whole spread against about 1.8 lakh candidates. A narrower band would look better and be wrong more often.

How does the qualifying check work?

We compare your aggregate percentage with your category's cutoff for each year from 2023 to 2025. Clearing all three is a safe signal. Clearing 2025 but not 2024 is borderline: it depends on how hard the 2027 paper is. The cutoffs also include minimum marks in each subject, which the predictor does not check.

Which IITs are within reach of my rank?

The predictor gives a rank band, not a college list. IIT seats — about 18,000 across 23 IITs in 2025 — are allotted through JoSAA by rank, category, gender pool and branch, and closing ranks move every year. Take your band to JoSAA's published opening and closing ranks, or to the JoSAA counselling guide, before shortlisting.

What are the limits?

  • Paper totals change. Recent papers were 360 marks; if yours differs, enter a percentage.
  • Partial marking makes self-scoring hard. Multiple-correct questions have given +4 for a full answer, +3/+2/+1 for partial and −2 for wrong in recent years.
  • Category ranks aren't estimated. They depend on each year's category-wise counts.
  • Nothing is stored. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use your JEE Advanced rank estimate

After you get a band

  1. Score both papers from the official key

Apply partial marking question by question for multiple-correct answers. Rounding partials up in your head is the easiest way to overestimate a score.

  2. Check the qualifying line and subject minimums

If your aggregate is borderline for your category, the subject-wise minimums in the result notice matter as much as the total.

  3. Take the whole band to JoSAA

Shortlist branches whose past closing ranks sit inside your band, and a few safer ones beyond its high end.

  4. Keep your JEE Main rank in play

NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats in JoSAA go on JEE Main rank. A borderline Advanced result is not the only route to a good branch.

Questions about JEE Advanced rank prediction

How accurate is this JEE Advanced rank predictor?

The JEE Advanced rank predictor gives a deliberately wide band. It combines approximate marks-vs-rank curves for a harder paper like 2025 and an easier paper like 2024, because the same marks mapped to very different ranks in those years. Your official rank depends on the 2027 paper’s difficulty, so plan with the whole band rather than one end of it.

What rank will I get with 150 marks in JEE Advanced?

With 150 marks out of 360 in JEE Advanced, recent results suggest a CRL rank of roughly 6,800–16,000. The lower end fits a hard paper like 2025 and the higher end an easier one like 2024. The band is approximate, from published analyses, and does not account for category rank lists.

What are the JEE Advanced qualifying marks?

For the JEE Advanced Common Rank List, the qualifying aggregate was 86 marks (23.89%) in 2023, 109 marks (30.35%) in 2024 and 74 marks (20.56%) in 2025, per the official results. OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS need 90% of that and SC, ST and PwD need 50%. Minimum subject-wise marks also apply.

What rank do I need for an IIT?

There is no single rank for an IIT. JoSAA closing ranks differ by institute, branch, category, gender pool and year, and around 18,000 IIT seats were available across 23 IITs in 2025. Check the previous year’s opening and closing ranks on josaa.nic.in for the branches you want, then compare them with your JEE Advanced rank band.

How many students write JEE Advanced?

About 1.8 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Advanced in recent years. Only the top 2,50,000 B.E./B.Tech candidates from JEE Main across all categories are eligible to register, and not all of them do. That appeared count is the basis of this JEE Advanced rank predictor’s scale.

Does the predictor store my marks?

No. The JEE Advanced rank predictor runs in your browser and does not store or send the marks, percentage or category you enter. You do not need an account or an email address. If you want a plan built around the chapters costing you marks, the free BrainStride diagnostic is a separate, optional step.
