Mocks · NEET UG
Often, but not reliably enough to trust without checking. AI-written NEET questions usually look correct, and a share of them carry a wrong key, two defensible options or a statement the NCERT text contradicts. That matters more in NEET than almost anywhere, because the paper is written close to NCERT and rewards exactly the precision a careless question undermines.
Quick answer
These are the failure types to look for. None is rare enough to ignore.
| Failure | What it looks like | Where it is most common |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong key | The marked answer is not the correct one | Physics numericals, physical chemistry |
| Two correct options | Two options are both defensible from NCERT | Biology statement questions |
| No correct option | The right answer is not among the four | Numericals with rounding |
| Contradicts NCERT | A fact stated differently from the textbook, or from an older edition | Biology, inorganic chemistry |
| Out of syllabus | Tests a chapter removed in the 2024 revision | Chemistry (Solid State, Surface Chemistry), Biology |
| Not NEET style | Long, multi-step or subjective — closer to a board paper | Every subject |
NEET Biology — 90 of the 180 questions — is written very close to the NCERT text, and questions often turn on a single word: always versus usually, a label on a diagram, which of two similar hormones does what. A question generated from general knowledge rather than from the current NCERT book can be right in the wider world and wrong in NEET.
The syllabus adds a second trap. The 2024 revision removed chapters such as Solid State, Surface Chemistry and Transport in Plants, and the rationalised NCERT books dropped some content that NEET still examines, such as p-Block Elements. A model trained on older material may confidently set questions from chapters that are no longer examined — or skip ones that are. Our NEET 2027 syllabus guide lists what changed.
The cost of a bad question is not one lost mark. It is a wrong method learned with confidence, which then costs marks in the real paper.
Before you trust a question
If your answer and the key disagree, assume nothing yet — that disagreement is exactly what the next steps settle.
For Biology and inorganic chemistry, locate the sentence or diagram the question tests. If you cannot find it, the question may be out of syllabus.
Statement questions fail most often because a second option is also true. Each wrong option should be clearly wrong.
Recalculate with the values given. Watch rounding: an answer that only matches with a convenient approximation is a warning sign.
Compare against the current NEET syllabus. Questions from removed chapters are wasted time, however good they are.
The most useful thing AI can do for NEET preparation is not writing questions. It is deciding which checked questions you should see next, and why you got the last ones wrong.
That is the approach behind BrainStride. BrainStride is an AI tutor for JEE, NEET and Olympiad preparation that runs a 20-minute diagnostic, maps your weak chapters and writes a daily plan, with practice-bank solutions checked by teachers. Its adaptive practice chooses from a question bank whose solutions are audited by teachers before release, and its mistake analysis tags every wrong answer as a concept gap, a silly error or time pressure. The one place we do generate answers live — the camera doubt solver — is labelled as not pre-checked, and every answer carries a one-tap report to a subject mentor.
For full mocks, plan the paper first and fill it from checked sources. The free NEET mock test generator builds a 180-question plan on the current pattern, Botany and Zoology kept level, which you fill from previous-year and NCERT-based questions.
You can, but check every question before relying on it. AI chat tools can produce NEET-style questions quickly, and a share will have a wrong key, two correct options or facts that differ from the current NCERT text. Use them for extra practice only after solving and verifying, and never as the only source for a timed mock.
Only as accurate as their checking. NEET Biology follows NCERT closely, so a generated question that is broadly true but phrased differently from the textbook can have a different correct answer in NEET. Prefer mocks whose questions are taken from previous NEET papers or checked against NCERT by teachers.
Solve it before reading the key, find the NCERT line it tests, check that every wrong option is clearly wrong, rework any numerical in full and confirm the chapter is still in the NEET syllabus. If any step fails, set the question aside rather than learning from it.
Selecting and sequencing checked practice — which chapter to practise next and which mistakes keep repeating — rather than writing new questions. Explanations of a solution you already have are also useful, as long as you check them against NCERT.
Not reliably. Many were trained on material from before the 2024 syllabus revision, so they may set questions from removed chapters such as Solid State or Transport in Plants, or skip content NEET still examines. Check every chapter against the official NMC syllabus.
BrainStride is not affiliated with NTA, the IITs, JoSAA, MCC or NMC. Verify every figure against the official source before relying on it.
Take the 20-minute diagnostic and BrainStride picks every practice set from the chapters you lose marks in.
