How do you calculate your JEE Advanced score from the answer key?
Work from your recorded responses, not from memory. Score each question with the marking scheme for its section, total each subject separately for both papers, then add the two papers together. Doing it by subject matters because JEE Advanced sets minimum marks in each subject as well as in the aggregate. How do you challenge a JEE Advanced answer key?
When the provisional keys are released, the organising IIT opens a short window for candidates to submit feedback online through the candidate portal. Pick the exact question, state the answer you believe is correct, and give a clear, brief justification — a worked line of reasoning is far more useful than “my answer is also correct”. Submit before the deadline; feedback after the window closes is not considered.
What if the final key changes?
The final answer keys are the ones used to calculate results. If a question is changed, dropped or accepts more than one answer after review, the official notice explains how it is scored. Re-score only the affected questions rather than redoing both papers.
What should you do while you wait for the result?
